Physical Education/Health

Class Structure: A K-5 pilot program focusing upon the State Standards for Health will be implemented this school year. Classes will meet twice a month. PE class are held in the gym twice a week and class periods are 30 minutes in length. Fifth grade has a 40 minute class twice a week that includes health and physical education.

Expectations: Students want to enjoy and have fun in class. Students are to be nice and kind to others. Students are to play safe, participate, and follow game and class rules. Students are to participate in all activities and display good sportsmanship.

Social Development: Small/Large Group activities and games (taking turns, following directions, recognizing boundaries, working together and enjoying the activity. Team and game activities (leadership, win and lose gracefully, sportsmanship, respecting classmates, authority and rules, honesty, cooperation, strategy, teamwork).

Behavior: Students who have difficulty with class are timed out from activities ad the problem is discussed between teacher and student.
