Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?
American colonists High taxes on tea Dec. 16, 1773 Boston High prices on tea and other goods King George of England placed high taxes on import

The Boston Tea Party was a raid of American Colonists of three ships located in the Boston Harbor.  The raids took place on Dec. 16, 1773.  As a disguise the colonists dressed up as Indians and dumped 342 chests of tea into the harbor.  This act was a protest against the king for having high taxes on tea.  The colonists didnt want to pay more British taxes.  This act would soon lead to the independence of America.

1767 British Parliament placed taxes on goods that would be imported into the Americas.  Many colonists were out raged at the taxing and considered it to be illegal and they did not want to pay for them.  1770 the British Parliament took off taxes on all of the imported items except for the tea.  1773 the Tea Act was passed by the British Parliament to help the East India Company get out of financial trouble.  The cause of this act was that tea was sold cheaper in the Americas.  Eventually the tea was shipped to America for the agents of the East India Company, which meant that they were able to sell the tea at any price they wanted to.

Ships arrived in the Boston Harbor and the colonists tried to send them back to England because they didnt want to pay the taxes for tea.  Governor Thomas Hutchinson, leading up to the start of the Boston Tea Party, rejected the hard efforts from the colonists.
