Lego League provides ten students an opportunity to build a robot made of LEGOS which will attempt to complete designated missions at the two tournaments. Team members program their robot using user-friendly computer software. The team is also responsible for researching information on this year's theme, Ocean Odyssey, and presenting this information to the judges at the two tournaments. The team will be competing at the Rockwell Collins Tournament at Taft Middle School in Cedar Rapids on Sat., Dec. 17 and at the Iowa State University Tournament in Ames on Sat., Jan. 21st.

Rockwell Collins LEGO League Tournament - St. Joseph Team placed FIRST in Robot Programming and in Robot Reliability!
Congratulations to the St. Joseph LEGO League Team on a great performance at the Rockwell Collins LEGO League Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 17th at Taft Middle School. The Chargers captured First Place in Robot Programming by demonstrating sound programming principles through creating an effective and efficient program to run the robot. They also took First Place in Robot Reliability for an imaginative and creative presentation demonstrating the dependability of the robot. Members of the team are Shane Peot, Chris Fogerty, Nicholas Ball, Andy Fogerty, Will Rotunno, Nicole Draker, Devin Gaffney, Kevin Gorman, Josh Hewitt, and Alex Phillips. The teacher/coach is Mr. Mike Hayek and the mentors are Rockwell Collins engineers Mr. Joe Richey and Mr. Chris Welzien. Your coach, mentors, and parents are all very proud of you! The Chargers will next compete in the Iowa State LEGO League Tournament in Ames on Saturday, January 21st.
