Advent has arrived! In this time of busy holiday preparation, the shopping, decorating, and baking please remember to keep "Christ in Christmas".
Each Monday morning of Advent our prayer will focus on the Advent wreath and the meaning of the candle we light for that week. We will conclude with an Advent prayer service on December 17 at 8:15 in the gym. I invite you to join us.
Our gift mass will occur next week on December 8. This is a holy day of obligation, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Since Mary is the patroness of the United States, what better way to express our Freedom of Religion in this country than by making sure we attend mass!

Christmas Project-gift Mass
As in years past, we will be participating in the Toys for Tots program. We are asking students to bring a new toy (not gift wrapped) to school by Wednesday, Dec. 8th. This toy will be used in a processional before Mass on Wednesday morning. As always, remember that our service projects are optional activities.

Spirit Clothing
The backpacks are on back order and will not be received in time for holiday gifts. The clothing orders will arrive soon. Some extras were ordered and we will advise you what items are available.

Shamrock Update
Are you looking for a tax deduction for this year? It is time to start thinking about Shamrock! This is our largest fundraiser of the year. We could sure use your help! Call Tracy Winker with donations at 373-8583. While you are at it, don't forget to mark your calendars for March 12. With your attendance, this will be our best event yet!

Scrip News
For your Christmas gifting or shopping pleasure, we currently have five $25 certificates in stock for Amazon.com (normally, these must be ordered). The discount is 7%. If you are not familiar with Amazon.com, you should check out their website. They have much more than books and DVDs! The certificates have complete instructions on how to use them for on-line purchases.
Don't forget that we now stock special coupon sheets good at Carlos O'Kelly's and Applebee's. These sheets have 7 coupons for each restaurant, including 2nd entree free, free kids meals, to-go specials, etc. They expire next August. Your ten dollar cost directly benefits the school, but does not earn TRIP credit.
Attached is a new order form, SCRIP News and a sample copy of the Carlos O'Kelly's/Applebee's coupon sheet. With the end of the year fast approaching, be sure to check your own SCRIP for potential expiration dates.
As specified in the SCRIP Newsletter, we will NOT be taking any Wal-Mart pre-orders until further notice. We are unsure of the amount we will receive this month so please do not pay in advance.

Parents - Open the Let2Parents attachment for Christmas program instructions and times.

Marion Historical Society Ornaments

The ninth annual Historic Christmas Ornament, sponsored by the Marion Historical Society, features the three drawings of Marion's Catholic churches.
The frosted white Christmas ball, with metallic gold etching, is an ideal gift for families and friends far and near, and especially those who have moved away from the area.
A representative will be at the school to sell the ornaments on December 3rd and 10th at 2:30 in the main school lobby. They will also be available before and after the Christmas program in the church on December 13th. The cost of the ornament is $12.50. All proceeds go to the Marion Historical Society.

Charger News
There will not be a Charger meeting in December. The next meeting will be January 6th.

Tuition Statements
Next Thursday, parents will receive a balance sheet showing your tuition payments this school year. Please take this time to review to assure that your account is up to date.
