Dress Code

 PHILOSOPHY


Our philosophy at St. Matthew School fosters the development of the whole child: academically, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Our dress reflects this philosophy and helps to promote an optimal learning environment.

PANTS
Solid navy, khaki or black full length dress pants or corduroy slacks are permitted. Must be worn with a dress code shirt blouse.

SHORTS
Conservative solid, navy, khaki or black shorts may be worn during May, August and September. Must be worn with a dress code shirt/blouse.

SHIRTS/BLOUSES
Solid red, white or navy shirts/blouses with collars and sleeves (turtle necks included) are permitted.
St. Matthew's red or white jaguar T-shirt and red or navy sweatshirts with St. Matthew logo (sold through the Parent Association) or any shirt sold through school is allowed to be worn with pants or shorts
ALL SHIRTS/BLOUSES MUST BE WORN TUCKED IN.

SWEATERS
Solid red, white or navy sweaters are allowed if worn with a dress code shirt.

UNIFORM JUMPER/SKIRT
Girls are allowed to wear the St. Matthew red, white and navy jumper or skirt with dress code shirts, blouses and sweaters.

SOCKS/LEG WEAR
Socks or tights must be worn in one of the following solid colors: red, white or navy.
Shoes must have closed toes and heels.

BELTS
Belts should be worn with pants or shorts that have belt hoops.

MAKE-UP AND JEWELRY
May be worn conservatively. No dangling earrings.

SCOUTS/BROWNIES/UNIFORMS
May be worn the day of their meetings or special events.

SPECIAL DRESS DAYS
Will be announced periodically.

NO OTHER EXCEPTIONS
